Employees

There are 2 types of employees that you will hire in your cafe. They are Barista's & Server's. The two differ in terms of who they serve and what they server.
Let us see what the difference between the two.

Baristas': You start out with Ann as your first employee who is a Barista. Barista's can server all kinds of drinks and food, but they only server customers that are seated on bar counters (eg: Shaolin Bar Counter, Vintage Bar Counter). They will not server drinks or food to people seated on Tables.



Server's: Servers act differently to barista's. They will only attend to customers seated on tables. Servers will take the order from the customer and will self deliver the food or drink ONLY if it is a simple dish (simple dish = the basic food or drink item, no combinations). All other orders will be placed on the service table. The barista's will prepare the respective dish and place it back on the service table, which then will be carried by the server to the respective customer.




Telephone Orders Exception: All telephone orders can be serviced by both the barista's as well as the server's. They will deliver all kinds of food and drink if assigned to do so.

Leveling Up Employee Skills: Each of the barista's as well as the servers's have a set of special skills that they bring with them. These can be leveled up to gain an advantage in the game. Some of the skills include Faster Movement, Reduced Prep Time, Increased Prices and also sometimes Free Daily Spices. The special skills of an employee can be seen by selecting the employee and clicking the "Tell me about your skills" button. This will show you thee Occupation, level and experience of the employee. Once the experience it full, you can level up and of their skills by 1 level. Alternatively you can level up employee skills by spending 99 diamonds per level. Some employees offer just a single skill while others offer 2 unique ones. It is up to you who to hire, though employees with unique skills cost lots of gold to hire and sometimes even diamonds. You can brows for more potential candidates by clicking the drop down menu on the top right hand corner and selecting the staff tab, then click "View Candidates". This list will shuffle every 24hrs, so come back each day to see if you find someone you want to hire.





Experience Gain: Your staff will only gain experience towards their skills if they server the customer themselves. If you server a customer by hand, non of the staff members will gain any experience for it, and neither will you. So better leave their job to them. ;)

NOTE: Servers will gain the experience point for the customer they server despite a barista preparing an order for them.

SMART TIP: If you have both a barista and server it is important that you have a good mix of both Bar Counters as well as Tables in your cafe so that both the types of staff can gain experience.


Earning Money With Employees: Each time any of the employees completes an order, the customer will pay the amount due + tip (based on decorations). To collect the money you must click the Gold Coin icon on top of the employees head.

Experience in relation to money earned from orders: There is a specific relation to the amount of experience earned for each unit of gold earned. (This only applies to orders completed via employees). It is as follows:

You get 1 exp point for ever 10 gold earned by the employee. This happens when u click the gold coin icon on their head and collect the money.

SMART TIP: Since the relation of exp to money is 1:10. It is not advisable to keep collecting gold from your employees as soon as they complete an order. This is because and order may add up to 15 gold which will give you only 1 exp. Instead wait for another order, say for 15 gold. Now you can collect the 30 gold for 3 exp instead of 15 gold 2 times for 2 exp. This is quite a small difference, but it helps out in the early stages of the game where you want the most exp out of your sales. =)
